Hot processed virgin coconut oil or Urukku Velichenna / Ventha Velichenna is made from the milk of  matured organically grown coconuts, in traditional Kerala’s brass vessel

 

This oil has long been part of the skin care routine of infants and children in Kerala. Highly recommended for baby massage.  It’s one of the major components of many Ayurvedic wellness medicines.

Unlike cold pressed oils, these heat-treated oil preserves more phenolic content which imparts strong anti-oxidant property that keeps skin and hair healthy.

Phenolic acid fraction of the coconut oil prepared by boiling coconut milk (traditional coconut oil) was more complex compared with that of coconut oil prepared by pressing copra (commercial coconut oil).

Post-partum application of this oil reduces stretch marks,  and is also good       for nursing mothers who develop cracked nipples. You can still nurse the baby, as it has zero side effects if the baby ingests it. It can also be used to treat certain skin conditions
